Role Overview

Muffin Media is a hybrid creative and growth agency that helps YouTube creators and brands scale on YouTube and Instagram. We work with international clients across education, consumer brands, and creator-led channels, combining sharp storytelling with data-driven experimentation to grow views, revenue, and loyal audiences.

As a Social Media Video Editor, you will turn raw footage, voice-overs, and simple assets into compelling stories for YouTube and Reels. You will shape long-form YouTube content (podcasts, explainers, commentary) and then recut the strongest moments into thumb-stopping Shorts and Reels. Clean pacing, thoughtful motion graphics, and inventive visual flourishes are what you bring to every edit. You will collaborate closely with our creative leads, copywriters, and account managers, and ship work on a consistent weekly rhythm.

Core Responsibilities & Must-Have Skills

  1. Edit and polish 12–20 minute YouTube videos (podcasts, analyses, commentary) for high retention.
  2. Design eye-catching Reels and Shorts with captions, dynamic crops, and hook-first pacing.
  3. Elevate basic assets (photos, screen recordings) using creative borders, kinetic text, transitions, and subtle VFX.
  4. Perform colour correction, audio sweetening, noise clean-up, and basic sound design.
  5. Source B-roll, stock, infographics, and memes that match narrative tone.
  6. Maintain consistent brand style across formats and channels.
  7. Deliver on tight deadlines, iterate quickly on feedback, and manage multiple projects at once.

Qualifications

  1. 4–5 years professional video-editing experience for YouTube or social channels.
  2. Advanced skills in Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve, comfortable with After Effects for motion graphics.
  3. Portfolio showing long-form YouTube videos plus short-form vertical edits that demonstrate high viewer engagement.
  4. Strong grasp of pacing, visual storytelling, and audience psychology.
  5. Familiarity with YouTube and Instagram best practices (hooks, retention curves, thumbnail and title synergy).
  6. Strong written and spoken English is mandatory. Since most of our creators and brand partners are US-based, a solid understanding of American pop culture and references is a strong advantage.
