Role Overview
Muffin Media is hiring a social-first Video Editor to turn raw footage, voiceovers, and simple assets into compelling stories. You’ll craft long-form YouTube content—podcasts, explainers, commentary pieces —and re-cut the best moments into thumb-stopping Reels and Shorts. Smooth pacing, slick motion graphics, and inventive visual flourishes are your trademarks.
Core Responsibilities & Must-Have Skills
- Edit and polish 8–12 min YouTube videos (podcasts, analyses, commentary) for high retention.
- Design eye-catching Reels/Shorts with captions, dynamic crops, and hook-first pacing.
- Elevate basic assets (photos, screen recordings) using creative borders, kinetic text, transitions, and subtle VFX.
- Perform colour correction, audio sweetening, noise clean-up, and basic sound design.
- Source B-roll, stock, infographics, and memes that match narrative tone.
- Maintain consistent brand style across formats and channels.
- Deliver on tight deadlines, iterate quickly on feedback, and manage multiple projects at once.
Qualifications
- 2–3 years professional video-editing experience for YouTube or social media channels.
- Advanced skills in Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve; comfortable with After Effects for motion graphics.
- Portfolio showing long-form YouTube videos plus short-form vertical edits that demonstrate high viewer engagement.
- Strong grasp of pacing, visual storytelling, and audience psychology.
- Familiarity with YouTube & Instagram best practices (hooks, retention curves, thumbnail/title synergy).
